The Secret Ingredient for the Fudgiest Brownies Ever! (Gluten-Free & Irresistible)

Who doesn’t love a rich, fudgy brownie? The kind that’s perfectly gooey in the center, has that deep chocolate flavor, and just melts in your mouth?

After testing countless brownie recipes, I finally cracked the code to the ultimate fudgy brownie—one that not only tastes amazing but also has a little extra something that sets it apart.

And the secret ingredient? Avocados! 🥑🥑🥑

Why Avocados in Brownies?

Okay, hear me out—you won’t taste the avocado at all. But what it does is magic. Avocados add incredible moisture, richness, and creaminess, creating that perfect fudgy texture without the need for loads of sugar. Plus, they bring in heart-healthy fats and fiber, making these brownies a little more balanced than your average sugar bomb.

But That’s Not the Only Secret…

To take things up another notch, I also use almond flour instead of regular flour. Almond flour makes these brownies extra soft and rich while adding a boost of vitamin E, fiber, and protein. The result? Brownies that taste indulgent, but leave you feeling way better than the usual sugar crash.

How to Make These Fudgy Avocado Brownies

Making these brownies is beyond simple. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar

  • 1 ripe avocado (medium size)

  • 2 eggs

  • 3 tbsp coconut oil

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1/2 cup almond flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips (plus more for topping)

To Make:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF (177ºC). Add the avocado, eggs, vanilla, coconut sugar and coconut oil to a food processor or blender and mix well until combined.

  2. Add the almond flour, cacao powder, baking soda and sea salt. Process again until combined. Stir in the chocolate chips, reserving some to place on top.

  3. Line a pan with parchment paper and pour brownie batter in. Smooth the top down and sprinkle the remaining chocolate chips on top. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes.

  4. Remove from the oven and let cool before slicing into perfectly gooey brownies!

A Few Tips:

  • One medium avocado is equal to approximately one cup of mashed avocado.

  • You can use coconut oil, coconut butter, ghee or butter in this recipe.

  • For 12 servings, I used a 9 x 9-inch pan. You can also use a round pan.
